Richard Broad: President
Richard Broad is a nationally known soccer coach who has fielded championship teams on the secondary school, club, and intercollegiate levels. After playing college soccer at Princeton University and serving as an assistant there and at The University of Massachusetts, he took over the men’s program at George Mason University and built it into a national power. His teams were consistently ranked in the Top 20 and competed in the NCAA Division One Tournament. He was twice named South Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year and was selected Head Coach of the East squad in The Senior Bowl. He is a member of The George Mason Soccer Hall of Fame and the Virginia/D.C. Soccer Hall of Fame.
He is especially committed to the development of the serious, highly-motivated soccer player. He conducts seminars on college recruiting and provides individual counseling for college-bound student-athletes. He has guided over 500 young men and women through their college selection process and contributed substantially to the development of MLS players Michael Lahoud and Abe Thompson as well as United States National Team members Oguchi Onyewu and Clarence Goodson. On the professional level, he has been a scout for The Columbus Crew, The Portland Timbers, and FC Dallas, where he played a major role in the selection of Zac Loyd, Eric Alexander, Matt Hedges, and Ryan Hollinshead, all of whom have had highly successful MLS careers.
He has been a television commentator and a color analyst for Fox Sports, ESPN, ESPNU, The Big Ten Network, The American Sports Network, and CBS Sports Network. He lives in Fairfax, Virginia, with his wife Tania and their sons and frequently travels for television and speaking engagements throughout the United States.
